I was sent this ebook from the author herself for an honest review for this first Author Spotlight! This is the first in the Finkleton series and is aimed at younger middle grade readers.
Obviously with me being twenty-two now my enjoyment of this book could have been hindered slightly by the target audience and, although the writing style and the way the characters speak is definitely aimed at younger readers, I still thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the second in the series, ‘Return to Finkleton’, which is written for a slightly older audience.
With regards to the book itself, the plot was fast-paced and a quick read. At only 184 pages this is really something you could read in a day or something that a younger child would also enjoy reading. The characters are each relateable in their own ways and the way the plot unfolds is promising for the second book.
