The Slow Regard of Silent Things by Patrick Rothfuss

22739835This story is a companion to the Kingkiller Chronicles and I wanted to read it soon after finishing Wise Man’s Fear.

I enjoyed this story, especially with the accompanying illustrations, but I would say that it is definitely not necessary to read as part of the series. I liked that the writing style was different to the main novels, reflecting the character that the story follows.

Overall, I enjoyed this for what it was but this is more a character study than a story in its own right. I would recommend it for fans of the Kingkiller Chronicles but I don’t think it would make sense otherwise.

3 out of 5 stars!
