This book is just 128 pages but contains loads of information about the diets and fitness regimes from the women of the Golden Age of Hollywood, 1920s to 1950s. From Greta Garbo to Audrey Hepburn, this non-fiction book looks at the weird and wonderful eating habits of these women and provides images of the stars too.
Personally, I am not familiar with some of the actresses talked about (that is solely my own fault as I haven’t seen many older films) but I still enjoyed reading about the types of fads that appeared throughout the decades. It was interesting to see how many of the strange diets that originated during this time are still around today and going strong.
Overall I would recommend this book especially if you are familiar with the actresses that are mentioned. This isn’t the most in depth piece of writing on this topic but if you want a quick fun overview of the period and a beautifully produced book I would recommend this one.
