What If? by Randall Munroe

So it’s the first day of January 2015 and yes, I have already completed a book! I had only read about 20% of it before midnight so I read most of it in one sitting and wow, it was a great start to my reading year!

This is a book that I have been wanting to read ever since it came out in September and as soon as I received it as a Christmas gift on 30th December (it was a late family gathering) I started reading it.

This book does exactly what it says on the cover; it gives serious scientific answers to absurd hypothetical questions. I am not the most knowledgeable with regards to science and mathematics but I think that most people would be able to understand the topics discussed in this non-fiction book because Munroe really knows what he’s talking about (he used to work for NASA) and everything is explained in a way that makes it a lot more approachable than a typical science-based book.

I would highly recommend this book and am so glad that I finally got to read it. I would recommend checking out Randall Munroe’s website xkcd.com also as it contains a lot of webcomics in a similar style to that which you will find in the book, though the book goes into a lot more depth on each topic.

5 out of 5 stars!
