I started reading this for my book club over on Goodreads, the Jolly Good Reading Society, and although it took me a while to read because of the readathons that I have been taking part in, I finally finished the book and really enjoyed it overall!
I have heard some people complain about the writing style but, honestly, I found it really easy to get into and enjoy. It flowed really well and gave great insight into Clay Jannon’s thought process.
I won’t say much about the plot just because it is a mystery but I loved the atmosphere throughout the book and the way the mystery unfolded. The characters were brilliantly well-developed and engaging; each had their own unique personality and they each had a bit of mystery too.
I really enjoyed the themes in this book; secret societies, Google, typography and books being the main ones. These are all things that I would love to read more about.
Another thing that this book has made me really curious about is the Dragon Chronicles, the fictional fantasy books which feature heavily in this story. I wish they were real!
Overall I think you would enjoy this if you like mysteries or books about books, and let’s face it, who doesn’t?! I would highly recommend this book but I would suggest reading it in one or two sittings because it is relatively short and I think that reading it in a shorter amount of time would have kept me more engaged in the story and the suspense of it.
